Posing Pretty

A creative design by Lynnette Davis.
Journaling reads:  It seems like only yesterday that you were a pain in my butt.  When I look at you now, it's hard to believe that you are my younger sister.  You have grown so much and are getting more and more beautiful.  Brat or not, I love you sis!

Decorating

A beautiful layout by Rahel Menig
I'm loving the clouds and pillow journaling!

Rahel's Notes: I love to work with just one picture, that really tells the story. To tell this story, I needed more! To make it a little more surprising I used this very strange picture of my husbands back and then when you open it, you will find out, what this story all is about - the decoration of our bedroom!

Supply List:
Paper: Crate Paper, BoBunny, My Mind's Eye;
Stickers: Basic Grey; Stamps: swissgirlDesigns; Punch: McGill; RubOn: Hambly; 7gypsies tape.

Hope

What an exquisite piece of art by Julie Bonner.

Julie rolled flowers and added Ranger Stickles around the edges of the flowers to really make them "pop".

"Behind the flowers you can see the use of the Crafter's Workshop Template 6 x 6 Paradise.  I masked around the edges of the template, covering my entire background sheet, and then lightly misted with Maya Road mist.  I then repeated this once more to continue the pattern up the side of the paper.  This created a great foliage-looking pattern behind the flowers.

This photo shows a detailed view of my favorite poem & this gorgeous glittered bird I cut from a sheet of My Mind''s Eye patterned paper."  Julie

People are Strange

People are Strange by Lynnette Davis.

"I scrapped this pictures of my quirky cousin, Corinne, and used the song "People Are Strange" by The Doors as my title.  I also included the lyrics to the song.  I tried to keep this page as strange as I could by NOT coordinating any of the colors and patterns.  I went as far as using a football themed paper for the base.  How "odd" is that? "

Fierce

Fierce by Lynnette Davis.
"This layout is of my cousins son, Ty.  I was drawn to this photo of him not only because it's a great one but because this is a whole 'nother side of Ty that I've never got to see before.  Yes, "Fierce" is just the title I came up with and the way he looks in this shot could have been staged but I thought it was worth documenting in my family albums.  This shy, timid boy who very rarely smiles for pictures can easily put on a front and be fierce with his look as well."

The end of Summer

An soothing layout designed by Julie Bonner.  I can feel relaxing ocean waves.

"This is a close up highlighting some punching & hand-cutting I did to add a little something extra to the page. Punches are a great way to dress up borders and/or to create embellishments that you can layer up. I also loved the design on this Dear Lizzy paper & hand-cut it to create a decorative border strip - love when patterned paper lends itself to this :)

This is a close-up on a little stamping I did - but guess what . . . it is really just the bottom portion of a Tim Holtz Distress Ink!!! I love how just stamping the bottom portion of this repeatedly creates a fun border on the page :) "Susan

Crafter's Workshop

Today we have 2 awesome layouts using Crafter's Workshop Templates.  These are putting me in the mood to grab some paint and stencil away :)

Designed by Julie Tucker-Wolek.
"I made this layout using a 6x6 Crafter's Workshop Template and the Bo Bunny's Olivia collection.  The background was painted using the template to create design.

Journal tag and scalloped circle: BoBunny OLIVIA Scrapbooking Paper

Designed by Beth Perry.

"tips: for light paint or mist on your templates, you can quickly spritz with a stamp cleaner and it wipes right off. For more heavier paints, I just washed it in the sink with some soap and water. So easy to clean!! and I love this brick template by Crafter's Workshop so much! I know I am going to be using it on A LOT of projects! "... Beth

Under The Weather

What a nice layout by Rahel Menig it has such a beautiful feel to it.

Rahel's Notes: I tried to use the Crafter's Workshop templates a bit different than using them with glimmer mists (since I don't have any...), so I used the floral one with acrylic paint (two colors) and loooots of water. The design I used on this layout was a try out, but I really liked it because of its beautiful water color feel. The birds template I used for cutting out the birds from BoBunny patterned paper. I also added a wing for one bird :)  The Maya Road flowers were originally green. Since I really love turquoise, I spraypainted them quickly and added them to the layout to give it a bit of a vintagy feel.

Paper: Crate Paper, Bo Bunny;
Stickers: Basic Grey, Dymo, Jenny Bowlin;

Just the beginning

Lynnette Davis created a mini album cover using a 7gypsies Bookcover - this is just the beginning.... read on....

"As a military family we move around a lot.  When asked by someone "Where are you from?" there are many answers that could go behind it.  My kids are officially "Military Brats," I'm the "Stay-At-Home-Mom" (more often than not) and my husband is just trying to move up in the ranks.  We dedicate ourselves and our lives to this military lifestyle and up until now didn't think far enough ahead.  Stabilization is just about every military lifers dream.  Although moving around is fun at times and meeting people from different places can be too, we've always wanted to have some place to call HOME.  That is why we have decided as a family to build a house and make a home here in Texas.  I'm originally from Hawaii and my husband is originally from Virginia, so we are kind of meeting in the middle.   Plus, my husband is a BIG Cowboys Football fan so it works out great for that reason too. :-) To keep record of this special journey in our lives I have created this here book.  It will document the blue print that I designed myself, the choices of granite, cabintry, flooring, etc., my thoughts, my feelings, the different stages of it all and everything in-between.  This is just the cover so far but I'm hoping you will be excited to see and hear about what's to come."
