Just Thought...

Just thought y'all might like to know
what's been taking up all my time and energy lately.
Emberjayne is doing fabulously well as you can see.
At just a week or so before five months old, she is
measuring at 26 1/2 inches long and
weighing in at around 18 pounds.
She is rolling over from her back to her tummy,
though hasn't figured out how to get herself back over just yet, so Mom and Dad have to help her out
when she gets too tired or frustrated.
She is very happy and loves to sing, screech, and cackle!
She is still taking anti-seizure medication and we still have a few neurology appointments to get through,
but all in all she is just amazing!

A Little Early Christmas Present

No she is not here yet, but we were treated to a great surprise today. Because of some minor quirks with my pregnancy, we had to do another sonogram. Nothing major and all is well but
this time we got a 4D pic of her face.
Isn't she gorgeous? God truly does amazing work!

Baby Update- Seven Months- 30 weeks down 10 to go!

Nine months is surely a long time. It will all be worth it in the end, but right now I am really wishing that human gestation lasted 30 weeks instead of 40. At night, I try to sleep on my side, but after an hour or so the hip and leg on the bottom get sore from the pressure. So I roll over and it takes another hour or so until the other side is sore. So it goes all night long. I try to sleep on my back propped up with pillows which helps, but then I slide down in my sleep and supposedly sleeping on your back is not so good for the baby because of the pressure it puts on the uterus. Oh, I cannot wait until I can sleep on my stomach again!

On the brighter side, baby is almost always moving. It can be seen through my shirt now. I can't imagine there are any more cannonball dives going on at this point, but I am asking myself when does this child sleep? Music continues to be a major inducer of movement, as are my quiet times of drawing or reading out loud to the boys during school. I really can't wait to meet her.

I know that these next weeks really will fly by, but here in this moment I am wishing I could give that bird a little caffeine to speed him up just a bit!

Baby Update- Six months

Yes, she is growing, and so am I, right along with her. It is very hard to think that I have another 14 1/2 weeks or so to go. Pregnancy is at best uncomfortable for me, and this time is no exception. I am only 5'2" and literally have about six inches of space between my ribs and my hips. Not a lot of space for a little growing person.

Despite my complaints, there are many more precious things going on that make it all worth it. This little girl loves music. If there is music playing, she is moving. Live music has an especially energizing effect on her. Daddy is a musician you see, and so is his dad, so it is in the genes- on one side anyway. I play the radio and try not to sing too loud for fear of the build up of yowling cats in the back yard.

She also loves her daddy already. He almost always speaks before or while he touches my tummy and invariably it creates a response from the little princess.

I know this is not an "art" post, but inquiring minds might want to know, so I thought I'd supply the information. In the future there will be a "baby update" link in the sidebar for those who are interested.

And while I'm at it, I will include one art related snippet. The deadline for submissions to The Gallery is quickly approaching on the 27th, so please remember to get those in. I am excited about that "baby" too!
